What is the Federal
Skilled TradesProgram?
The Canadian Government started a program called the Federal
Skilled Trades Program with the Immigration Department in the year 2013. It
offers the potential immigrants, who are eligible and capable of skilled trade
with the opportunity to permanently reside in Canada alongside their trade and
business. This method ensured the attraction of skilled workers to the country
as well as keeps a strengthened and skilled work force. The shortage of skilled
workers was continuously rising in the areas that had rapid growth due to
increasing economy and its standards. It was a request of the Canadian businessmen
and employers who were growing short and struggling to hire professionals to
help them finish their work on time due to which this program was launched.
This system is in now in operation and works through the Express Entry System
since 2013.
